July 4th is a special day in Woodstown as the entire town takes part in Salem County's biggest Independence Day celebration. While many people around the country wonder were to go to celebrate, the residents of Woodstown and Pilesgrove know that they can't do better than to stay in their little town and enjoy the festivities.
The day begins with a 5k run and a traditional parade down Main Street. Both sides of the street are lined with spectators; every home boasts a flag and every porch has homeowners, family and friends anxiously awaiting that first fire truck.

Soon after the parade, the afternoon air is filled with the smells of hundreds or even thousands of backyard bbq's - after which it is tradition to take an afternoon nap before heading to Marlton Park to meet with friends and enjoy the fireworks celebration at dusk.
